Jieun Kim Newland is an organist and harpsichordist currently living in El Paso, Texas. She obtained a Bachelor’s degree from University of Missouri in Kansas City, a Master’s degree in Organ Performance from Yale University and is currently pursuing a Specialist Certificate in Medieval Music Research and Performance from Medieval Music Besalú in Spain.
Jieun is an active musician, both as a church organist and collaborating with early music and choral ensembles in Honolulu and Kona, Hawaii, Seattle, Washington, and Fort Collins, Colorado. Jieun currently serves as Music Minister and Organist at Peace Lutheran Church in Las Cruces and is a member of Sprezzatura, an early music ensemble in El Paso, Fellowship of the Melody, a Medieval music ensemble and Society of Forgotten Instrument Trio (SoFI Trio) a trio which specializing in polyphonic music from Medieval to Renaissance period. Jieun serves as a member of American Guild of Organists’s National Committee on Educational Programming.
